childcare at the conference
the aas strives to provide a welcoming and family-friendly environment at the annual conference by offering the following policy and services:
children under 12 years of age may attend formal panel sessions and other conference functions without requiring a badge, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. parents or guardians are asked to help maintain a professional, disturbance-free environment. under no circumstances are children allowed in the exhibit hall during exhibition move-in or move-out times for their own safety.
the aas does not provide childcare services at the annual conference. however, in support of panel participants in need of professional childcare services while on-site at the annual conference, the aas board of directors has approved a reimbursement up to $250 per family for childcare expenses incurred onsite.
reimbursements are available only for individuals participating on the formal program and requests must be supported with original receipts. the aas will only accept receipts from professional and licensed childcare providers having rendered services for children 12 years and under. childcare reimbursement funds are limited and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until available funding is depleted.
please contact alicia williams at [email protected] for more information regarding reimbursement.
